Barbering Program

The Barbering Program consists of 1,000 clock hours of comprehensive technical instruction and hands-on practical training. Designed to prepare students for a successful career in the barbering industry, the curriculum combines classroom learning with real-world experience to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel as professional barbers.

Technical Instruction

Technical instruction includes lectures, demonstrations, interactive classroom activities, and written assessments that provide students with a strong foundation in barbering theory. Through these learning experiences, students gain an understanding of the principles, techniques, safety practices, and professional standards essential to the barbering profession.

Practical Training

Practical training gives students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge by performing barbering services on live models and mannequins under instructor supervision. Through consistent hands-on practice, students build technical proficiency, refine their craftsmanship, and develop the professional skills necessary for success in today's barbering industry.

What to Expect

Our Barbering Program is designed to prepare students with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional confidence needed to pursue a successful career in the barbering industry. Program Objectives

The objective of the Barbering Program is to provide students with a comprehensive education in barbering theory, technical skills, safety practices, and professional development. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to pursue licensure and begin a rewarding career in the barbering profession.

What you will Learn

Throughout the program, students will develop knowledge and practical experience in the following areas:

California barbering laws, rules, and regulations governing licensed barbering establishments.
Infection control, sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization procedures that promote a safe and healthy environment for clients and practitioners.
Barbering theory, including the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, and chemistry as they relate to hair, skin, scalp, and barbering services.
Haircutting, shaving, beard and mustache grooming, styling, and other core barbering techniques through supervised hands-on practice.
Professional communication, customer service, consultation skills, and ethical business practices.
Barber shop operations, including client scheduling, retail awareness, recordkeeping, and the essential business principles needed to succeed in the industry.
